Les Magee, a renowned Northern Ireland-based musician, has joined Ken Clasper and Conor McGinn MP and become our third Ambassador.
We have worked with Les for a number of years and are delighted that she has agreed to take on the role. Although extremely busy singing and playing the harp and piano at weddings, Les will help to promote the charity and perform her beautiful music at our fundraising events. Les has previously performed for the charity in the Houses of Parliament, and organises the extremely popular Christmas concert at the Drenagh House Estate in Limavady to raise funds for the Lewy Body Society.
Les has first-hand experience of Lewy body dementia as her father Bertie was diagnosed with the disease in 2013.
Commenting on her appointment as an Ambassador, Les said:
“I was interested in the disease and about how I could possibly support others going through the same very difficult process of caring for someone with Lewy body dementia.
I’d like to see all families affected by the disease receiving support of some kind, and it would be wonderful if one day there was more effective treatment, or even a cure.
I know my Daddy would be right behind the small efforts I have tried to make for the Lewy Body Society too!”
