The loss of Frederick “Fritz” Hartmann is monumental. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Villanova University was deeply saddened to hear the news of his passing due to Lewy body dementia on Saturday. He was a mathematics professor at Villanova for over 50 years and served as the chairperson during eleven of those years. He touched so many lives over his tenure here and the outpouring of love from all those recounting “their own” Fritz Hartmann story is coming through via emails, phone calls and person to person conversations.
